AMANPOUR: So do you consider white Zimbabweans to be Zimbabweans?

MUGABE: Those who are naturalized and have citizenship, yes.

AMANPOUR: Those who've been living there for years and years and years?

MUGABE: But historically...

AMANPOUR: Right.

MUGABE: ... historically, they have a debt.

AMANPOUR: The people who -- contributing to farming -- historically they have a debt to pay?

MUGABE: Yes, yes, their land. They -- they occupied the land illegally. They seized the land from our people.

AMANPOUR: Look...

MUGABE: And therefore, the process of reform, land reform, involved their handing -- having to hand over the land. We agreed upon this with the British, by the way.

AMANPOUR: Some 80 percent of that land was acquired after you took office, some of the farmland, and with the very certificates that mean government approval. Why are these people being hounded out of the country? Why are they being...

MUGABE: They are not -- they are not being hounded.

AMANPOUR: ... hounded off their land, then?

MUGABE: No, no, no, they're not being hounded out of the country at all.

AMANPOUR: We've just done reports about it.

MUGABE: Those who are in industry and manufacturing and mining are not being...

AMANPOUR: The farmers I'm talking about. Why is that...

MUGABE: ... are not being affected.

AMANPOUR: ... wonderful farmland and why are they being...

MUGABE: What are you talking about? We are getting land from them, and that's all. They're not being hounded out of the country, not at all.

AMANPOUR: They're being hounded off their land.

MUGABE: (inaudible) their land.

AMANPOUR: It's not theirs?

MUGABE: Our -- our land.

AMANPOUR: Even though they bought it, even though they bought it with the certificates of approval from the government?

MUGABE: But haven't you heard of the Lancaster House discussions and the agreement with the British government? Because they are British settlers; originally they have been British settlers. And we agreed at Lancaster House that there would be land reform.

AMANPOUR: But they're citizens. But they're citizens, aren't they? And isn't this farming disaster contributing to your...

MUGABE: Citizens by colonization, seizing land from the original people, indigenous people of the country.

AMANPOUR: But how did that all go so wrong?

MUGABE: You approve of that?

AMANPOUR: How did that all go so wrong? Because when you came in, you -- it was -- it was about reconciliation.

MUGABE: They knew about it. They knew we had this program of land acquisition and land reform. They knew about it.

AMANPOUR: But what about the blacks, then?

MUGABE: And the British knew about it.

ANC Cadre Deployment Key Reason for Crippling Municipality Service Delivery

ANC's cadre deployment policy was the “key reason for the collapse of local government”. “Deployed cadres are perceived to have crippled service delivery in many municipalities” the newspaper stated, noting that a culture of “patronage and nepotism” had become so rife in municipalities that they have become inaccessible and unaccountable. “The lack of values, principles or ethics ... indicates that there are officials and public representatives for whom public service is not a concern, but accruing wealth at the expense of the poor is..” -- Helen Zille, SA Today – The truth about cadre deployment [See also: An Entitlement Culture of Corruption]

The Petition to Federal Court Justices, Canada has the following to say about whether South African citizens want Local and National Goverment Officials to be appointed upon Ideological or Racial Loyaly; or on Merit:

[4.13] South African Citizens Views on Affirmative Action, and Black Economic Empowerment Laws: A report released by the Helen Suzman Foundation, Who Needs Affirmative Action?, Focus Survey, 19 Sept. 2000, provides evidence of three surveys done, which document that the majority (over 60% of South Africans of all colours, support merit, over AA or BEE):

[4.13.1] A 1994 Post Election Survey on Affirmative Action revealed that 61% of all voters, including 52% of Africans wanted to see appointments made strictly on merit, "even if some people do not make progress as a result".

[4.13.2] A 1996 Survey on Affirmative Action found that only 23% of voters took a hardline position in favour of affirmative action, whereas 54% were clearly opposed believing either that "There should be special training of African/blacks but the best applicants for jobs should be appointed whoever they are," or that "There should be no such policies and jobs must go strictly on merit." A middle group of 22% believed that "preference should be given to African/blacks, but if others are better qualified, they should get the job." Thus 76% regarded merit, not race, as the overriding criterion.

[4.13.3] A June/July 2000 Affirmative Action Survey, found that 22% took a hardline position in favour of affirmative action, while 56% took a hardline position against it, with a middle group declining to 19%.

Peter Burgstaller (Wiki):

Peter Burgstaller (13 February 1964 – 23 November 2007) was an Austrian football goalkeeper.

He played for Favoritner AC (until 1984), Wacker Innsbruck (1984-1986), Grazer AK (1986-1987), VfB Mödling (1987-1988), Austria Salzburg (1988-1991), SV Ried (1991-1992) and finally a second spell at Austria Salzburg before retiring from the game in 1993.

Peter Burgstaller

After retiring from the game, Burgstaller coached lower division side FC Puch during the 1995-96 season, and later founded an event agency in Salzburg.

Murder Charges laid against Accused of Burgstaller Murder

Burgstaller was shot and killed in on a golf course in Durban, South Africa on 23 November 2007.[1] Police suspect the murder was the result of a robbery, as Burgstaller's mobile phone and golfing equipment were missing at the scene of the crime. At the time of his murder, delegates were attending the World Cup qualifying draw in nearby Durban, South Africa.

Three men were arrested after the murder.[2] On 30 October 2009 two of the arrested men were convicted of murder and of robbery with aggravating circumstances. They received lengthy prison sentences. [3]
