Radical Honesty submissions to the Constitutional Court, in the matter of The Citizen v. Robert McBride (CCT 23-10). In directions dated, 7 March, the Justices asked all parties to make submissions on whether they should order The Citizen to apologize to McBride. More specifically:

“Should the Court find that any statement The Citizen published about Mr. McBride was actionably defamatory, would it be appropriate, in view of the findings of the High Court and the nature of the submissions before the Supreme Court of Appeal and this Court, for the Court to order The Citizen to publish an apology?”

[2] As detailed in the First Amicus Heads of Argument: These submissions (a) address alternative legal arguments to those of both the Applicant and Respondent, i.e. from a Radical Honesty culture/religion perspective; (b) ‘argues points deemed too far reaching for emphasis by parties intent on winning their particular case’ ; (c) ‘apprises the court of broad-based legal, social, economic, ecological and cultural enquiry implications for its consideration to avoid unintended consequences for groups not before the court,’ (d) informs the court of information to base its decision on a larger, more comprehensive, and more accurate reality based natural law legal framework, so that the court’s final judgment shall include a fully-informed refined legal analysis, which provides equal protection to all SA’s tribes; and (e) provides a perspective from a culture practicing sincere sensate forgiveness.

[3] First Amicus is not a member of either the Applicant (Citizen) or Respondent (McBride) culture of intellectual fake insincere ‘forgiveness’ and ‘reconciliation’; nor its hyper-sensitivity to ‘insults’. Radical Honesty are far closer to Pema Chodron’s views of ‘insults’ – “The job of a spiritual friend is to insult you” -- as detailed in Pema Chodron: Troublemakers.

[4] In Radical Honesty we very brutally clearly define what we mean by forgiveness, and no Radical Honesty member would ever pretend to another that they have forgiven them, until they have gone through the process of reaching sensate forgiveness. Sincere forgiveness is also a process of acute personal responsibility; so that we can honestly forgive ourselves for our contribution to the misunderstanding.

[5] Nobody in the Radical Honesty community would ever force anyone to make an apology; or even recommend that such an apology be made; for we believe that the only apologies that contribute to meaningful sincere spontaneous and loving relationships are those that are totally 100% sincere, from the gut and the heart. We do not do public relations – i.e. bullshit the public -- with fake insincere apologies.

Constitutional Expert on Hypocrisy (Eish sorry, Democracy), asks a good question, in his most recent blog at Constitutionally Speaking: “Why the silence from good ANC members?”. He proceeds to inform us that:

Legislation also limit the power of police officers and bodyguards. There is a good reason for that. Once the intelligence services and the police become a law onto themselves, they will be used by powerful politicians to harass journalists and to investigate political opponents and media critics in order to undermine democracy and entrench their own power by subverting the willow the people.

When that happens, a population starts living in fear of its leaders and criticism of leaders becomes dangerous or even fatal. Leaders are then free to do what they want, to get as many crooked tenders and to steal as much money form the poor as the taxpayers can provide. The result is an end of democracy and the start of an authoritarian kleptocracy.

We are not there yet, but that is no reason for complacency.

He ends with, some noble bedtime fantasy about the ANC are “undermining the very democracy for which we have fought?” He seems absolutely oblivious how Forsaking Gandhian Non-violence, honour & character.. the ANC-Frakenstein spawned a Gov. of comrade-tsotsis, gangsters & kleptomaniacs. But that would be too much like calling a spade a spade.

Winnie goes on a Major PR and Victimhood Offensive; I particularly fancied her 'Johnny come lately revolutionary' reference! But she is deathly silent about how the Naipaul's must have photoshopped that photo of them in Sowetho on the day of the ‘ficticious interview’. But then we forget, we are smack bang in Nelson Mandela Foundation Ministry of Truth land, and Winnie appears to be giving Orders that the interview should be erased down the Orwellian memory hole... And if it isn't true; why haven't Winnie and her precious Nelson Mandela Ministry of Truth instructed their lawyers to sue the Naipauls for defamation?? Eish, that should be an interesting trial...

I returned this week from a week-long visit abroad to be confronted by headlines generated by a story in the London Evening Standard. Their story was based on comments I am alleged to have made in an interview with a journalist, Nadira Naipaul, wife of writer VS Naipaul.

Let me start by categorically stating that this is completely false. I gave no interview of any kind to Ms Naipaul. It is therefore not necessary for me to respond to the far-fetched content of a fabricated interview.

The Star documents the blindly believing TRC SA Media's shock (beyond belief?), about Winnies ‘Mandela Albatross’ interview, who are now spendidly confused by Winnie and Nelson Mandela Corporate Foundations denials, versus The Telegraph and Naipauls confirmation of the interview.

Below it is the New York Times interview of the Irascible Prophet V.S. Naipaul, an ardent supporter of truth and reality, irrespective of ideology; where he shares his ideas about the clash between belief and unbelief, in postcolonial societies (like South Africa).....

What is of account, in Naipaul's view, is the larger global political situation -- in particular, the clash between belief and unbelief in postcolonial societies. “I became very interested in the Islamic question, and thought I would try to understand it from the roots, ask very simple questions and somehow make a narrative of that discovery,” he said. To what extent, he wondered, had “people who lock themselves away in belief . . . shut themselves away from the active busy world”? “To what extent without knowing it” were they “parasitic on that world”? And why did they have “no thinkers to point out to them where their thoughts and their passion had led them”? Far from simple, the questions brought a laserlike focus to a central paradox of today's situation: that some who have benefited from the blessings of the West now seek to destroy it.

My husband and I have just crossed Africa. On the final leg of our journey we had finally come to South Africa - a place that now went hand in hand with the name Mandela.

My husband had been reluctant to come here but then he had followed his instinct and it had brought us to the Soweto door of the mystifying Winnie Mandela, a much celebrated and reviled woman of our times.

Looking out at her garden, I wondered how long we would have to wait to see her. We were in a stronghold of sorts, with high enclosing walls and electronic gates which were controlled from inside a bunker-like guardhouse. There were tall muscular men dressed in black who casually appeared and disappeared.

In the late Eighties, Winnie's thuggish bodyguards, the Mandela United Football Club, terrorised Soweto. Club "captain" was Jerry Richardson, who died in prison last year while serving life for the murder of Stompie Moeketsi, a 14-year-old who was kidnapped with three other boys and beaten in the home where we would soon sit, sipping coffee. Winnie was sentenced to six years for kidnap, which was reduced to a fine on appeal.

Speaker Max Sisulu said he had decided to invoke the provisions of Rule 52 of the Rules of the National Assembly and suspended Kohler-Barnard for the maximum of five parliamentary working days allowed in terms of the rules.

Sisulu said: "Since the DA had left the Chamber at that stage, there was no opportunity for the chair to express itself on the matter."

"Ms Kohler-Barnard has since admitted to the media and to her party that she did indeed use the distasteful phrase."

Kohler-Barnard used the word "fuck" during the walkout of the DA and Cope in support of Cope MP Mluleki George, after he was sent out of the National Assembly after refusing to withdraw his statement that the government was steering the country into lawlessness.

Pik Botha & FW de Klerk to SA & World: ‘The ANC Lied to Us’

In July 2007, Pik Botha, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, who served two years in Former President Nelson Mandela's cabinet, informed South Africans that the ANC goverment is violating the negotiated settlement of 1994 with the manner in which it is currently implementing affirmative action

The Rapport article informed South Africans that if the National Party had known that the ANC would implement Affirmative Action in the manner in which they have done, the National Party would never have agreed to a negotiated settlement.

The current implementation of affirmative action is in conflict with ex-pres. Mandela perspective that whites and blacks need each other. “It comes down to a rejection of Nelson Mandela's basic philosophy.”

Botha and De Klerk intended to inform the ANC of their perspectives.

So in 2008 FW sent of a bunch of letters to Mr. Gwede Mantashe, Secretary General of the ANC, wherein he requested such a meeting with the ANC leadership.

That letter was followed by a subsequent letter on 24 October 2008 and again on 11 November 2008. Furthermore messages were left on the telephone of his secretary to request when we could expect a response to our request.

As of this date, there has never been any response from the ANC leadership to FW letters.
