The correspondence was an invitation to Capetown municipality and Capetown citizens, interested in root cause problem solving their – poo attacks – toilet dispute. [Fact: 10 million – The number of viruses contained in one gram of faeces.]

The correspondence includes detailed information about my personal use of a Bokashi Bucket Humanure Toilet system, and its benefits (a) uses no water, so saves water, (b) recycles human and home organic waste, so massively reduces wastes send to landfills; (c) humanure recycled by composting creates excellent compost which improves soil quality and helps with carbon sequestration (lessens climate change).

Consequently the South African citizens who are truly ‘Walking their Talk’ to support the South African Police to reduce crime are those who (a) consume below carrying capacity (a consumption footprint of less than 10 global hectares); and (b) breed below carrying capacity (one or less than one child).

I personally use a Bokashi Bucket Humanure Toilet system, for my bodily waste process materials. Bokashi is a fermenting process used in Japan to ferment all organic waste. I collect and ferment my personal ‘manure’ waste, along with all other organic waste generated from our home, including the dog’s manure, for two weeks in the bokashi mixture. I then mix it into my compost pile.

Bokashi is very simple and easy to make, the ingredients are sawdust cultured for 4 weeks in effective microorganisms (Recipe included) and then dried. Contact me for more info, if interested.

Elizabeth Kübler-Ross defined the five stages of coming to terms with grief and tragedy as denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, and applied it quite successfully to various forms of catastrophic personal loss, such as death of a loved one, sudden end to one's career, and so forth.

Several thinkers, notably James Howard Kunstler and, more recently John Michael Greer, have pointed out that the Kübler-Ross model is also quite terrifyingly accurate in reflecting the process by which society as a whole (or at least the informed and thinking parts of it) is reconciling itself to the inevitability of a discontinuous future, with our institutions and life support systems undermined by a combination of resource depletion, catastrophic climate change, and political impotence. But so far, little has been said specifically about the finer structure of these discontinuities. Instead, there is to be found a continuum of subjective judgments, ranging from "a severe and prolonged recession" (the prediction we most often read in the financial press), to Kunstler's "Long Emergency," to the ever-popular "Collapse of Western Civilization," painted with an ever-wider brush-stroke.

ZURICH (MarketWatch) — The Swiss Parliament is expected later this year to discuss the creation of a gold franc — a parallel currency to the official Swiss franc, with the fringe initiative likely triggering a broader debate about the role of the precious metal in the Alpine nation.

The initiative is part of “Healthy Currency,” a campaign sponsored by politicians from the right-wing Swiss People’s Party (SVP) — the country’s biggest — that is seeking to capitalize on popular fears about global financial turmoil and inflation to reverse the government’s current policy on gold.

“I can imagine that this will spark some sort of debate about gold and there may be some pressure to accept the parallel currency,” said Dr. Gebhard Kirchgaessner, an economics professor at St. Gallen University. “But it won’t have any real effect on the economy. It seems incredible to imagine that there are people out there willing to buy millions of these things.”

Switzerland, which in 2000 became one of the last countries to decouple its currency from gold, is not the only place to contemplate a change in the precious metal’s role amid controversy over government involvement in the economy. In March, Utah became the first state in the U.S. to legalize gold and silver coins as currency, while similar legislation was considered in Montana, Missouri, Colorado, Idaho and Indiana.

“I want Swiss people to have the freedom to choose a completely different currency,” said Thomas Jacob, the man behind the gold franc concept. ”Today’s monetary system is all backed by debt — all backed by nothing — and I want people to realize this.”

Today I filed an Application with the George Magistrates Court (GRC Case 3052/11) to ask the Magistrate to issue an Order that gives me a Temporary Permit to operate my Bicycle Trailer on Public Roads in Eden District Municipality, pending the resolution of my Petition to the Dept. of Transport for a Permanent Bicycle Trailer Permit. This was in response to a letter from the WC Dept. of Transport that informed me that the Vehicle Technical Committee (VTC) had decided -- without doing any tests or investigations whatsoever; purely by thumb-sucking decision-making -- that my bicycle trailer was unstable; and hence I should be a denied a licence for it; after the IPP had approved my petition, pending the decision of the VTC.

So, on Tuesday, July 05, 2011 7:35 PM; I filed a Request to Mr. Arendse for further evidence and information from the VTC: Request Vehicle Technical Committee (VTC) ‘Unstability’ Evidentiary Info; for Appeal to be filed with Mr. Philip Magagane of NDoT: RE: Petition to use Haulin Colin Bike Trailers on a Public Road. (Annex D). I also informed him that I “shall also be filing an application with the local Magistrates court for an order, granting me a temporary permit to use my bicycle trailer, until this matter is finally resolved with the Dept of Transport.”

Please could the VTC provide me with the results of their investigation, and the detailed report as to how and why they allege bicycles and trailers are unstable; and how exactly they define ‘unstable’; particularly the tests done by the VTC on the safety aspects, including stability tests which are the foundation for their allegations that a combination of bicycle and trailer are unstable.

Are they alleging that bicycle’s and trailers are only unstable in South Africa? Or which other countries in the world -- where bicycles and trailers of all sizes and makes are legal and used by ecologically conscious persons and poor people every day of the week for the past almost 200 odd years since the invention of the bicycle in 1830 -- does the VTC allege that bicycles and trailers are also unstable in?

Please could you also provide me with the legislation that states that it is a citizens responsibility to provide evidence of stability for a vehicle; which is considered stable anywhere and everywhere else in the world; and not the Committee who disputes such stability’s responsibility to provide their evidence for their allegations.

When thinking about "solutions" many are quick to cite organizing a protest and taking to the streets. Let's for a moment consider the mechanics of a protest, what it might accomplish, and what it may leave to be desired.

Take Glenn Beck's feckless and disingenuous 2010 "Restoring Honor" event in Washington D.C. It drew thousands of honest, well-intentioned people from all over the United States. Indeed, thousands of people filled up their Fortune 500 made cars with gas from Fortune 500 oil companies, drove countless miles, stopping along the way at Fortune 500 fast food restaurants, stayed at Fortune 500 run hotels, and stocked up on supplies purchased at Fortune 500 Walmart. They slaked their thirst under the hot August sun with cans of Fortune 500 Pepsi and Coke, and at the end of the day, they drove home, paid their Fortune 500 cable subscriptions to watch their Fortune 500 media reports, most likely on News Corporation's Fox News, a Council on Foreign Relations corporate member.

At best, all a protest will lead to, while we are so hopelessly dependent on this system, is a round of musical chairs inside the political arena, with perhaps superficial concessions made to the people. The vector sum however, will still be decidedly in favor of the global corporate-financier oligarchy.

If we understand that the fundamental problem facing not only America, but the entire world, is a global corporate-financier oligarchy that has criminally consolidated their wealth by "liberalizing" their own activities while strangling ours through regulations, taxes, and laws, we should then understand why events like Beck's "Restoring Honor" are not only fruitless, but in fact, counterproductive. We should also realize that any activity we commit ourselves to must be directed at this corporate-financier oligarchy rather than the governments they have co-opted and positioned as buffers between themselves and the masses.

While people understand something is wrong and recognize the necessity to do "something," figuring out what that "something" should be becomes incredibly difficult when so few understand how power really works and how to strip it away from the oligarchs that have criminally consolidated it.

Bicycle Trailers to be Legalized; Thanks to PeakOil Economic Collapse Petition to Transport Min.

A Petition to the Western Cape MEC for Transport and Public Works, Mr Robin Carlisle to approve a bicycle trailer to be used on a Public Road has been tenatively approved by the National Minister for Transport and Public Works.

I herewith petition the Minister to authorise in writing, either generally or specifically, the operation on a public road in the Western Cape, of the following Bicycle Trailer (known as a Haulin Colin (www.haulincolin.com) Bike Trailer, as used by ecologically conscious cyclists and small business owners in California, Seattle and elsewhere). I have been informed by Officials at George Motor Vehicle Licensing, that ‘bicycle trailers’ are prohibited by the Road Traffic Act: National Road Traffic Regulations, 1999: Section 330(1)(g). Traffic officials were at a loss to explain the logic of this law, which prohibits the poor and ecologically conscious from using bicycle trailers to transport their business or home produce, which would be a sustainable healthy business and personal transportation alternative with zero carbon dioxide vehicle emissions. Many felt citizens should be given financial incentives to do so.

Mr. MJ Gallant, Senior Manager at Traffic Law Administration, confirmed that the Petition had been approved, pending investigation by the Vehicle Technical Committee (VTC) and the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), which will, “if successful, enable the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) to compile the technical specifications before the matter can be legislated.”

Jason Moyo says Africans in Zimbabwe, including many in ZANU-PF are getting upset with how the Chinese are treating them: “Working for Chinese is 'hell on earth'”. China is building a massive new military college (wherefrom to direct its Southern Africa Colonial African Resource War) on the outskirts of Harare, which is described as “a monument to China's tightening hold on Zimbabwe.” It is also “a symbol of growing hostility from Zimbabwe's labour force towards Chinese employers. It is being built using a controversial Chinese loan and its workers have gone on strike to protest against beatings by their bosses and low pay.”

In the second article Paul Trewhala gives an interesting perspective to China's historical role in the ANC and current events. I particularly don't agree with his conclusion where he gives the ANC only two options to choose from. In my view there are far more than two options. However his his choice to narrow the ANC's options down to two, gave me the impression of a kind of 'good cop, bad cop' routine, pretending to project two opposing points of view, but in essence both cops have exactly the same goal.

I also don't think his observation and historical analysis of the ANC's motives are impartial or accurate reality, more like wishful thinking; but irrespective.

I read once that one of the most fundamental contributions the British Empire made to its colonies was the Jury system of law; imagine if the upcoming Chinese Empire colonialists would educate Africans to adopt a one-child only procreation policy? Now that would be one cultural revolution!

Scientists are warning of a potential marine massacre with a mass extinction of sea life akin to the death of the dinosaurs.

A new report says the seas are battling pollutants, overfishing and warming, and warns that without swift action the fight to save species could be lost.

The International Program on the State of the Oceans report brought together coral reef ecologists, toxicologists and fisheries scientists.

And when they compared notes, the result was grim.

Co-author Professor Ove Hoegh Guldberg, who specialises in reef ecosystems, says scientists found "unprecedented warming".

"We're seeing acidification in the ocean and now we're starting to see a drop in oxygen concentration throughout the major part of the ocean," he said.

"Now it's impacting directly on sea life, but the other is that it is a potential early step towards conditions which are associated with so-called mass extinction events."

Professor Guldberg does not want to be alarmist, but says a growing human population is to blame for many of the changes.

He warns the pressure will only increase, with the world's population set to grow by another 3 billion people in the next 30 to 50 years.

An outbreak of a peculiar strain of the E. coli bacteria has already taken 40 lives worldwide.

With fear that this outbreak will become a full-blown epidemic, scientists and citizens alike are wondering why this seemingly invincible strain is here and what they can do to combat it.

“If you look at it genetically…you have to come to the conclusion that this strain was exposed to eight different classes of antibiotics in its creation,” says Mike Adams, the editor-in-chief of NaturalNews.com. This creation, says Adams, is not something that happens naturally.

“This does not happen in the wild where you have a strain that is resistant,” he says. “This looks like, genetically, that it had to be engineered.”

Many governments and corporations have unleashed problems in the past only so that they could release a solution in the future, says Adams. It’s just a case of a creating the problem only to “settle the solution.”

While we don’t have all the answers, Adams says it is only wise to start asking the questions. First on the list: where did this really come from?

This particular e.coli variation is a member of the O104 strain, and O104 strains are almost never (normally) resistant to antibiotics. In order for them to acquire this resistance, they must be repeatedly exposed to antibiotics in order to provide the "mutation pressure" that nudges them toward complete drug immunity.

So if you're curious about the origins of such a strain, you can essentially reverse engineer the genetic code of the e.coli and determine fairly accurately which antibiotics it was exposed to during its development. I don’t know why your documentary is being censored by Mr. Lannan. I was curious whether your documentary negligently or consciously avoided including two fundamental root cause issues in the promotion of war (in which the media play a primary role); but which your documentary did not address at all.

If we want a saner world, those of us who understand why white nationalism is important need to destroy white nationalism.

No, seriously: throw it on a bonfire, pour gasoline on it, and watch it burn from a distance. Destroy white nationalism before it’s too late.

White nationalism is what we call a surrogate, or a fake thing that stands in for what you need. It wastes your time and, because it claims to solve your problem, prevents you from finding the real solution.

Although this is unpopular — like everything I write for all four of you to enjoy — my viewpoint remains that we need a revitalized mainstream conservatism. Only that will solve our actual problem.

Let’s look at the logic:

If you care about the issues white nationalism discusses, the last thing you should do is endorse white nationalists. There are better ways; even more, there are ways which do not outright fail as white nationalism does. You probably don’t want your hopes to fail, do you?

Perhaps I am atypical, but I’ve always been hypersensitive to what’s going on around me in the real world. Among my earliest childhood memories are the gas lines that followed the 1973 Arab oil embargo; the event which probably planted the seed that sprouted into awareness of peak oil during my fifth decade on this planet. Despite being just a kid at the time, I was keenly aware that my family’s cars needed that gasoline that was being rationed, and we furthermore needed those cars to do just about everything that was important--from my dad getting to work in the morning, to me getting to school, to my mom going grocery shopping every weekend.

My heightened awareness is likely also the reason why I still have vivid memories of a headline that appeared in our local small town newspaper one day several years after those gas lines had abated. The headline read in stark simplicity: “60 to 90 Years' Supply of Oil Left,” and it really grabbed this thirteen-year-old’s attention. Being a thoughtful youth, I did a quick mental calculation and realized that if the headline was accurate it meant if I was lucky there was a chance I would not live to see the end of the oil age.

Flash forward to middle age, and while researching this article I unearthed a reference to what it was that generated that headline from so many years ago. According to a Time magazine story published in October 1978, the source of that “60 to 90 year” figure was an official report produced for the Central Intelligence Agency by Richard Nehring, a policy analyst for the Rand Corporation. The Time article, entitled “Oil: What’s Left Out There?” centered on two basic questions: “How much oil does the world have left?” and “When will it run out?”
