I was most surprised to read your statement to Mr. Manyi, the CEO of GCSI to “Stop being a media critic, because that is no way to build working relationships with journalists.”


Working Relationships with Psychological Infant Journalists and Editors:

It is my understanding that any individual who considers themselves psychologically mature; is aware of the importance of constructive criticism to a professional working relationship. Any relationship founded on the parties being capable of sharing and hearing each other’s constructive criticism, and seriously enquiring into its evidentiary arguments; is a working relationship that can only grow stronger and stronger, as each party is provided the opportunity to receive information about its blindspots, and to fix those blindspots.

I write a blog: Why We Are White Refugees.

In early 2010 I was contacted by another blogger, who shared with me some photos of farm murders, he said had been provided to him by a policeman friend of his. He asked that we publish the photos. I published the photos and also sent them to numerous politicians etc; including to Mr. Malema at the ANC. A few days later, I got an anonymous tip that one of the photos was fake. I investigated and found out that the tip was correct, and in fact four of the thirteen alleged farm murder photos were not South African crime scene photos, but foreign. I published a retraction and wrote an individual letter of apology to every single person and politician to whom I had sent the original photos.

Nobody had to go to an Ombudsman to file a complaint against me. All it required was for them to inform me of the error, and evidence where I could prove I had erred. Once it was clear to me I had made an error; I considered it my honour and duty and responsibility to publish a retraction and apology. I did not require someone to force me to do the right thing. I do not publish erroneous facts. If I am informed any alleged fact I have published is false, I consider it my duty as an honourable human being to correct such error.

I wrote letters of apology and retraction, and published these letters of apology and retraction to:

I don’t know when it hit me but it was during my first year as a young reporter in 1985 when I had just joined City Press newspaper fresh from studying communications at Fort Hare University.

That was when I noticed that newspaper journalists, sub-editors, columnists and editors in every publication have, unavoidably, a particular political agenda.

Maybe it was how the paper identified and selected the high-flying personalities whose businesses had to be covered. Or maybe it was the angle adopted in covering a particular social responsibility donation to the community by a major corporation. Or it might have been the headline scripted for a particular story. I am not sure. But the more I got insight and understanding into how the news business network operates, I noticed that the news guys always had a specific political agenda.

Oh, let me state it categorically: there is no objectivity in journalism. I mean, the news business is a commercial enterprise with a particular political agenda to make profits. It is not to expose what is loosely called the truth or provide information and knowledge that will empower the mind of consumers.

In between attending meetings with corporate management and sitting in long sessions with cut-throat bean counters or accountants, the news guys and dolls have to put up a brave face of being committed to pursuit of the truth.

Most of the time, senior journalists and editors are monumentally self-delusional people who believe their own lies. Of course, they project the impression of being serious agents of change who influence developments and trends in society, especially at a political and economic level. But this is self-deception.

Most journalists are nothing but mere reporters who do as they are told and write stories that repeat everything said by so-called movers and shakers — without question.

This would sound like a contradictory statement except that people who know how the media operates will tell you that it is only a handful of guys and dolls in a news organisation that call the shots.

In fact, they operate like a mafia.

If you smelt something foul in the air as you were driving through Rosebank last Wednesday afternoon don’t worry. No, it wasn’t the malodourous sulphur stench we expect to be wafted onto the Highveld from Sasolburg at this time of year. It was much worse than that….it was the stench of AVUSA’s dirty linen being aired.

Now before you all get misty eyed and start thinking that AVUSA had second thoughts about denying Michelle Solomon’s request to access to the entire 88 page report compiled by the Bouffant Haired Prof Anton Harber and his three colleagues let me put you right by revealing the extraordinary facts.

Back in 2008 things were going so badly for the lads at the Sunday Times that they decided to call the bouffant haired one in to tell them what they were doing wrong. The report would then be published for all and sundry to see and, hopefully, trigger some constructive debate and corrective action. But when the report was finished the AVUSA management(sic) decided to keep it a secret and instead published a 900 word summary. This is rather like receiving the Ten Commandants from God and rejecting those that it’s inconvenient to keep.

I read about the e-mail you received from Barbara Ventrello (the Lannon foundation's Cultural Freedom Special Projects director) saying that Patrick Lannan had called from California to instruct them to cancel your events.

I don’t know why your documentary is being censored by Mr. Lannan. I was curious whether your documentary negligently or consciously avoided including two fundamental root cause issues in the promotion of war (in which the media play a primary role); but which your documentary did not address at all.

In 2010 the Radical Honesty culture in South Africa, an offshoot of the Radical Honesty culture founded by Dr. Brad Blanton, former Green Independent candidate for US congress in 2004 and 2006, filed a ‘direct access’ writ of Habeus Mentem application to the SA Constitutional Court (Radical Honesty SA v. 88 SANEF Media Publications and their Editors (CCT 06-11)) which addresses both these censored issues ignored by your War You Don’t See media censorship documentary. The direct application to the SA Constitutional Court was dismissed within less than 8 hours by the entire bench of the Constitutional Court as being ‘not in the interests of justice’. It argued on behalf of a Scientific Journalism Campaign; establishing a Scientific Journalism Media Publication rating system, which could be monitored by anonymous Media Inspectors, similar to Restaurant and Hotel Inspectors.

“To issue an advisory ruling, with expert witness input from Wikileaks and/or OpenLeaks ‘scientific journalism’ experts, in support of a clear classification system of ‘media corporations’; similar to Hotel Star Ratings and Smoking Label warnings. For example: (a) Three Star Media Corporations practice unbiased and politically incorrect scientific journalism; (b) Two Star media corporations practice left or right ideological propaganda when it contradicts scientific journalism truths, and withhold from their readers access to the original documents they are reporting their bias upon; (c) One Star gutter yellow smear propaganda journalism, which has no interest whatsoever in scientific truthful reporting, only profiting from spreading gossip and malice. All media corporations are required to publish their ‘scientific journalism’ hierarchical star status, in a designated space on their front page, clarifying their Star Status, and what that start status means regarding the scientific journalism or not quality of factual information being sold to the reader.”

According to City Press journalist (sic) Ms. Khadija Bradlow, a culture that practices sincere forgiveness and root cause problem solving is 'right wing'..... Would that mean an acknowledgement that a culture that practices fake posed 'forgiveness' and bandaid to braintumour problem solving is left wing?

Ms. Bradlow used to be the story editor for SABC's Special Assignment, but "she resigned after being informed that she would have to undergo a lie-detector test to prove her innocence," after the "SABC launched an internal probe and opened a theft case with the police" about stolen documents leaked to the Mail and Guardian, where Ms. Bradlow was an occasional columnist. According to the Commission for Gender Equality a Mail and Guardian article written by Ms. Bradlow about the CGE was "vindictive, malicious and untrue" ('There's no ducking of responsibility', Dec 16 2008 Mail & Guardian).

As usual, the Main Stream Media made themselves embarrassingly laughable. This time around the fish and chips wrapping called Rapport, the biggest Afrikaans Sunday newspaper climbed into the character of Terreblanche.

The editor of Rapport is one Liza Albrecht who claims to be a dedicated and saved Christian, yet she allows her Township Toilet Paper, sensationalist, mud-slinging, “Skinder Koerant” to sink to unbelievable new lows by publishing nothing but textbook disinformation and propaganda about the AWB leader on her front page.

No I am not shocked. I actually expected this and was waiting for it.

The pattern is always the same. From the Austrian Nationalist leader Jörg Haider’s assassination to Eugene Terreblanches assassination…everytime it is the same pattern that we see.

Let me tell you what the pattern is…

Media Censorship About the consequences of BEE, AA, etc. on Safety & Security of South African communities..

“This means that recourse to this legal excuse to avoid public discussion of an issue – a favourite ploy of politicians – is no longer valid and those using it can be called to account.” RSA Newspapers no longer bound by 'sub judice' law

Dan Rather, shortly after 9/11 described media censorship as follows:

“there was a time in South Africa that people would put flaming tires around peoples' necks if they dissented. And in some ways the fear is that you will be necklaced here, you will have a flaming tire of lack of patriotism put around your neck. Now it is that fear that keeps journalists from asking the toughest of the tough questions.... And again, I am humbled to say, I do not except myself from this criticism. What we are talking about here - whether one wants to recognise it or not, or call it by its proper name or not - is a form of self-censorship.”

In that context, I suggest reading the following two reports, James Myburgh's Racial Lunacy in the Police (A policewoman who was refused a promotion because she was white); and IOL's Police Angered by Community Justice (township residents tired of waiting on an inneficient and incompetent police force, -- hired upon racial quotas, as opposed to merit -- to protect them from criminals; resort to vigilante justice bundu courts).

Remember the White Refugee Petition?: the inneficiency and incompetence of the SAPS is a direct result of BEE and AA, and furthermore, a violation of the Social Contract, in that the Helen Suzman Foundation's studies on Affirmative Action Labour Policies showed that a majority of South African citizens want Labour Policies to be based ON MERIT, NOT COLOUR/RACE.

[4.12] In a report, The South African Police Service: An Organisation on the Brink of Collapse, by Ivan Myers, an SAPS specialist; that documents the collapse of the SAPS, causes and consequences; he states among others:

[4.12.1] Many communities are not very cooperative with the police because they perceive the police as a joke, when they see the polices inability to exercise literacy skills, and the police's general reluctance to respond to complaints.

[4.12.2] It is interesting to note that Ask Afrika's Orange Index gave the SA Police Service a 0% rating whilst private security companies achieved a 60.71% rating. What is even more disturbing is that Chicken Licken outlets achieved a service rating of 53.57% which, if it was feasible would make it appropriate to report crime at your nearest Chicken Licken outlet.
