Jimmy Manyi & Scott Lovaas on Media Mafia's Corporate Cultural Fascism

Jimmy Manyi and Scott Lovaas (Manufacturing Consent in democratic South Africa: Application of the propaganda model) on Media Mafia's Corporate Cultural Fascism

22 June 2011
Andrea Muhrrteyn

Gov. Communications CEO Jimmy Manyi was interviewed by Radio 702's John Robbie, to discuss the Goverment relationship with the Media.

The response from the Media has been their usual pathetic, proverbial 13 year old adolescent theatric outrageous incapacity to hear constructive criticism and do some introspection: SANEF slams Manyi for ‘Rock Bottom’ Relationship.

It is indisputable that Goverment corruption needs to be criticised and exposed. However corporate and media corporate corruption also needs to be exposed with the same level of enthusiasm. Journalists willing to expose media corruption are few: Sandile Memela has been the only one to address the systemic corruption: The Media Mafia. David Bullard and Michelle Solomon have addressed corruption at Avusa, but not systemically: Sunday Times Report: Avusa's Dirty Linen.

In my objective opinion listening to the interview between Manyi and Robbie, Manyi wins hands down. I ain't a big fan of Mr. Manyi; but I do appreciate his willingness to express what has been covert policy (to the knowledge of media and all, who are quite happy if the policy is covert; but only complain when it is publicly stated for the ignorant masses to awaken to its reality). Even a broken clock tells the truth twice a day. It is only those who are slaves to their subconscious hatreds who cannot hear the truth spoken from someone they may consider an enemy. Honour requires you to admit when your enemy states a truth.

John Robbie's listening skills are non-existant. He does not seem at all interested in an active listening conversation with Manyi. He deliberately avoids all Manyi's totally valid allegations about media corruption, media censorship, the media's lack of diversity of wide ranges of opinions on issues (the media consistently censor conservative opinion, white and black). Manyi sounds like he arrived for a serious interview; Robbie sounds like his intentions are to make an arse out of Manyi.

John Robbie further disputes that he and Manyi don't belong to the same culture. He sarcastically insists that there are no cultural differences between them. Unbelievable!

Radio 702: John Robbie Interview of GCIS CEO Jimmy Manyi (Radio 702)[27:43]
Manufacturing Consent in democratic South Africa: Application of the propaganda model, by Scott Lovaas, details in great detail corporate effects on the news you read:

In short, corporations are bound by class and adhere to the values and principles that reinforce the current system. Unwanted elements that threaten the system are weeded out by a variety of methods: limiting the discourse, suppression, framing of issues, choice of language, distortion, use of sources and self-censorship. Parenti writes:
the most important effect of the news media: they set the issue agenda for the rest of us, choosing what to emphasize and what to ignore or suppress, in effect, organizing much of our political world for us. The media may not always be able to tell us what to think, but they are strikingly successful in telling us what to think about.[59]

Stated even more starkly, Parenti continues:
News manufacturers are more than merely conduits for official and moneyed interests. They help create, embellish, and give life to the news, with an array of stereotypes, often misleading, but well-executed images, tones, evasions, nuances, suppressions and fabrications that lend confirmation to the ruling class viewpoint in a process that is not immediately recognized as being the propaganda it is.[60]

It is self-evident that profit-driven media have their own agenda and will do whatever it takes within the confines of the laws and regulations to maximize market share and ultimately enhance the bottom line.

Corporate media ownership by its very nature and self-interest reduces the range of debate on certain issues. For example, corporate media would not advocate or encourage commercial-free media, as it would simply be a threat to their existence despite the fact that it may meet the needs of the population. The “manufacturing of a social and political world” has significant consequences for the electorate because they receive limited, partial, or inaccurate information, thus making informed decisions more difficult. In a functioning democracy, informed decisions are vital. Citizens must understand the motives, interests, and aspirations of those collecting and disseminating the information they are receiving, as will now be discussed.

Report: Sunday Times Sensationalism: Something foul in the air?…AVUSA’s dirty linen

Out to Lunch: Something foul in the air?…. it must be AVUSA’s dirty linen.

Sunday, June 19, 2011
David Bullard, Newstime

If you smelt something foul in the air as you were driving through Rosebank last Wednesday afternoon don’t worry. No, it wasn’t the malodourous sulphur stench we expect to be wafted onto the Highveld from Sasolburg at this time of year. It was much worse than that….it was the stench of AVUSA’s dirty linen being aired.

Now before you all get misty eyed and start thinking that AVUSA had second thoughts about denying Michelle Solomon’s request to access to the entire 88 page report compiled by the Bouffant Haired Prof Anton Harber and his three colleagues let me put you right by revealing the extraordinary facts.

Back in 2008 things were going so badly for the lads at the Sunday Times that they decided to call the bouffant haired one in to tell them what they were doing wrong. The report would then be published for all and sundry to see and, hopefully, trigger some constructive debate and corrective action. But when the report was finished the AVUSA management(sic) decided to keep it a secret and instead published a 900 word summary. This is rather like receiving the Ten Commandants from God and rejecting those that it’s inconvenient to keep.

The Growing Coverup: Osama and “The Big Lie”

The Growing Coverup: Osama and "The Big Lie"

06 May 2011
by Larry Chin, GlobalResearch.ca

Serbian Population in Kosovo, before NATO bombing
After NATO bombing; Serb population in Kosovo,
at beginning of NATO occupation
[Wake Up Whitey Lessons from Serbia]
The Obama administration and the corporate media are concocting an ever-more elaborate and spectacular theater around the “heroic” murder of the CIA intelligence myth/CIA asset Osama bin Laden. Not content to simply to exploit the 9/11 atrocity for political gain, the administration is heaping new layers of lie and cover-up to the original crime.

The growing cover-up

The desperation is palpable. Just days since the “big announcement”, Obama administration officials have already been forced to backpedal, issuing multiple corrections, adding to the confusion over the location of the killing, whether bin Laden was armed or unarmed, whether there was a “fire fight”, if an alleged wife was involved, the burial at sea, whether to release “graphic photos”, etc. The mainstream corporate media---following approved CIA/White House narratives---is spewing and regurgitating a tidal wave of red herrings that add to the inconsistencies.

Seasoned observers will not be fooled, no matter how many Obama lies, doctored photos, fake footage, lurid new testimonials and CIA pronouncements are pushed forth. As put simply by Paul Craig Roberts:

Ten Reasons to Become Self-Sufficient and Ten Ways to Get There

Michael Edwards and Jeffrey Green
Activist Post, 20 August 2010

We are now three to five generations removed from the rural backbone that strengthened America. The world at large has undergone a similar transformation as the promise of easier work has created a migration to big cities. These mega-cities could be seen as an experiment gone awry, as general well-being has declined, with suicide rates increasing across the world. Crowded conditions and economic strife have led to rampant crime, pollution, corporate malfeasance, and a dog-eat-dog type of competition that can be described as a temporary insanity.

The economic crisis we are living through has been the final straw for many people, as promises of a better, easier, and more creative life seem to have been sold to us by carnival-style tricksters who are laughing all the way to (their) bank.

Here are the top reasons for becoming self-sufficient; these are based on fundamental, systemic concerns for why undertaking this life change will not be a fly-by-night fad, but rather a long-lasting means for personal independence.

SA Media's Periodic Fits of Hypocritical Hysteria & Incompetence at Self-Criticism

Reason, not irrationality, should be the guide by which we exercise our judgement. Evidence, not rhetoric, should be the gauge by which we measure the veracity of a claim. Logic, not sensation, should be the framework by which we craft an argument; and principled position, not political correctness, should be the rationale by which we arrive at a position. If those are the rules by which we wish our public debate to conducted, then they are the standard by which we should measure any transgression, certainly any complaint.

And they should be applied equally, both to those doing the complaining and by those responsible maintaining excellence and enforcing accountability. I wonder, how much weight do those principles hold in South Africa today? Are they cherished? Are they understood, promoted and protected? Or are they just words? Empty shells we evoke to shield the deep and fundamental desire to express our collective anger? Now there is something to become outraged about.

‘Rightwing group tries to scupper Reitz trial’ - City Press

Brad Blanton, Founder of Radical Honesty (www.radicalhonesty.com), author of Radical Honesty books, and former 'Honesty in Politics' Candidate for US Congress from Virginia.

According to City Press journalist (sic) Ms. Khadija Bradlow, a culture that practices sincere forgiveness and root cause problem solving is 'right wing'..... Would that mean an acknowledgement that a culture that practices fake posed 'forgiveness' and bandaid to braintumour problem solving is left wing?

Ms. Khadija Bradlow:

Ms. Bradlow used to be the story editor for SABC's Special Assignment, but "she resigned after being informed that she would have to undergo a lie-detector test to prove her innocence," after the "SABC launched an internal probe and opened a theft case with the police" about stolen documents leaked to the Mail and Guardian, where Ms. Bradlow was an occasional columnist. (SABC Steps Up Pressure in 'Leak' Probe, 29 September 2009, Business Day & AllAfrica).

According to the Commission for Gender Equality a Mail and Guardian article written by Ms. Bradlow about the CGE was "vindictive, malicious and untrue" ('There's no ducking of responsibility', Dec 16 2008 Mail & Guardian).

According to Its Almost Supernatural, Ms. Bradlow's writing about the Israel-Palestine issue is sheer nastiness, as a result of Ms. Bradlow hating complexity. They conclude that "Simple is as simple does Khadija."

Traitors from Within: Skinder Koerante and their Disinformation & Propaganda Character Assassination..

Youtube: Black Farmer speaks only positively about Eugene Terreblanche: An emerging farmer speaks about the help he received from Eugene Terreblanche in establishing his farm. He speaks about Eugene being a friend to black people, and blames a lack of knowledge about Eugene for prevalent negative perceptions.

The traitors from within

What the Mass Media do to White leaders who stand up for their principles and their people.

By Mike Smith Political Commentary
11 April 2010

As usual, the Main Stream Media made themselves embarrassingly laughable. This time around the fish and chips wrapping called Rapport, the biggest Afrikaans Sunday newspaper climbed into the character of Terreblanche.

The editor of Rapport is one Liza Albrecht who claims to be a dedicated and saved Christian, yet she allows her Township Toilet Paper, sensationalist, mud-slinging, “Skinder Koerant” to sink to unbelievable new lows by publishing nothing but textbook disinformation and propaganda about the AWB leader on her front page.

No I am not shocked. I actually expected this and was waiting for it.

The pattern is always the same. From the Austrian Nationalist leader Jörg Haider’s assassination to Eugene Terreblanches assassination…everytime it is the same pattern that we see.

Let me tell you what the pattern is…

It goes like this.

Notice to IOL.co.za Technology Editor; c/o & via: Independent News & Media PLC Board of Directors: RE: Violations of Press Code Allegations

Given reporters' penchant for proclaiming to "tell both sides," to render all the news that's fit to print, to answer who? what? where? when? and why?, this leads naturally to the question: Why do reporters avoid the population issue so steadfastly? » » » » How and Why Journalists Avoid the Population-Environment Connection, by T. Media Censorship About the consequences of BEE, AA, etc. on Safety & Security of South African communities..

“This means that recourse to this legal excuse to avoid public discussion of an issue – a favourite ploy of politicians – is no longer valid and those using it can be called to account.” RSA Newspapers no longer bound by 'sub judice' law

Dan Rather, shortly after 9/11 described media censorship as follows:
“there was a time in South Africa that people would put flaming tires around peoples' necks if they dissented. And in some ways the fear is that you will be necklaced here, you will have a flaming tire of lack of patriotism put around your neck. Now it is that fear that keeps journalists from asking the toughest of the tough questions.... And again, I am humbled to say, I do not except myself from this criticism. What we are talking about here - whether one wants to recognise it or not, or call it by its proper name or not - is a form of self-censorship.”
In that context, I suggest reading the following two reports, James Myburgh's Racial Lunacy in the Police (A policewoman who was refused a promotion because she was white); and IOL's Police Angered by Community Justice (township residents tired of waiting on an inneficient and incompetent police force, -- hired upon racial quotas, as opposed to merit -- to protect them from criminals; resort to vigilante justice bundu courts).

Remember the White Refugee Petition?: the inneficiency and incompetence of the SAPS is a direct result of BEE and AA, and furthermore, a violation of the Social Contract, in that the Helen Suzman Foundation's studies on Affirmative Action Labour Policies showed that a majority of South African citizens want Labour Policies to be based ON MERIT, NOT COLOUR/RACE.

Excerpts: Why We Are White Refugees Petition to Federal Court Justices, Canada:

[4.12] In a report, The South African Police Service: An Organisation on the Brink of Collapse, by Ivan Myers, an SAPS specialist; that documents the collapse of the SAPS, causes and consequences; he states among others:

[4.12.1] Many communities are not very cooperative with the police because they perceive the police as a joke, when they see the polices inability to exercise literacy skills, and the police's general reluctance to respond to complaints.

[4.12.2] It is interesting to note that Ask Afrika's Orange Index gave the SA Police Service a 0% rating whilst private security companies achieved a 60.71% rating. What is even more disturbing is that Chicken Licken outlets achieved a service rating of 53.57% which, if it was feasible would make it appropriate to report crime at your nearest Chicken Licken outlet.
