In South Africa, we have policemen who cannot drive, who do not know what a watermark is for, prosecutors who do not know what 'forensic psychology' or 'mens rea' means, and magistrates who do not know what passports are for; in fact, we have Constitutional Court Judges who are incapable of writing Judgements.

Afrikaner poor in forced removals: Krugersdorp

KRUGERSDORP, KRONINGSPARK -- For the record, I place 3 scanned pages of an article in Afrikaans below, describing the forced-removal threats against a 200-member, empoverished, homeless community of Afrikaners which has been occupying about 10% of a municipal park, Kroningspark for the past six years with their caravans, tents and shanties – but who are now in a face-off with the local ANC-run municipality of Mogale City – the former Krugersdorp, in the gold-mining East-Rand region. The ANC-regime wants to force these often very frail and impoverished Afrikaners to move to the black squatter camp of Munsieville.

The elders in the Kroningspark residents however are sick, frail pensioned-off mineworkers with lung-diseases who had initially started living in the campsite of Kroningspark, paying fees to the municipality. Amongst them also are their children and grandchildren: 45 school-aged children attending a nearby Afrikaans school. Now most residents cannot afford the campsite fees any more and they also built a small camp for farm-animals such as goats and chickens to provide them with subsistence-food. They also installed a small electricity-generator, begging to buy the fuel for it each month. At the moment, it’s a stand-off because the Afrikaners are balking at being forcibly removed, thus scattering their cohesive community and taking away their few meagre possessions and livestock. They obtained an successful interdict in the Johannesburg High Court barring Mogale City municipality from attempting any forced removals of this tiny, destitute white community.

The ANC maintains that before any of these more than 800,000 empoverished Afrikaners (130,000 households at the moment) can even qualify to be placed on their waiting lists for public “HOP” housing, they will first have to go and live in black squatter camps to ‘qualify for registration’... And the municipality refused to move their treasured shanties and caravans and other belongings: these poor people are supposed to only bring their clothes and cooking equipment. Residents balked, saying that all their belongings were survival tools for them, their only earthly possessions – and without these, they would all face certain death in the cold Highveld winters. At Kroningspark, they have the old ablution-blocks and the artificial lake for fresh water: but the municipal spokesmen say these are ‘luxuries’ and if they want reticulation or sewerage facilities, they’ll send a few portaloos.

The Johannesburg High Court agreed with the squatters: recently issuing an interdict to Mogale City council to stop its forced-removal programme of the Afrikaner squatters. However even with this legal precedent, the threats of forced removals still continue for Afrikaner communities like these: many have moved into former campsites and private holiday-resorts which used to be run by the privately-funded Federasie vir Afrikaanse Kultuurverenigings (the Federation of Afrikaans Cultural Organisation) to provide holiday camps for working-class Afrikaner families. Other families have moved into empty government buildings such as schools and even the giant abandoned leprosy-hospital of the Witwatersrand. Keep this in mind: all these people were taxpayers before 1994, and most also were employers of blacks: the average Afrikaner family had at least a gardener and a housekeeper in their employ. Thus hundreds of thousands of blacks have also become unemployed and destitute when these Afrikaners lost their job-rights.

However the Kroningspark community is mainly refusing to move out of fear: they are terrified – and rightly so – of being targetted by the frequent violence Afrikaners are undergoing each day in South Africa.

Afrikaner leaders: we are facing a genocide:

Recently, Afrikaner intellectual and businessman Dr Dan Roodt and others warned at an emergency meeting on the issue at the Vegkop battle ground near Heilbron, that ‘Afrikaners are facing an organised Rwandan-style genocide, with hatespeech against Afrikaners from ANC-leaders fueling these fires more each day”.

At Kroningspark, they can still protect each other somewhat, although none are armed: these destitute Afrikaner pensioners and their families have over the past six years however created a cohesive, reasonably self-reliant community of beggars -- and they run a centrally-organised kitchen. Most survive by begging and living off the meagre mining-pensions of their elderly grand/parents. They are all achingly poor, having no rights to apply for state-benefits at all -- nor even to qualify for food-aid from the government, being ‘previously advantaged’, i.e. ‘whites’. For some reason, they can only be ‘helped’ if they moved to Munsieville…

The private charity Helping Hand of Solidarity trade union has set up a programme, wholly reliant on private donations, to try and keep such communities scattered across South Africa, alive with donated fresh food from the few commercial farms South Africa still has left and annual handouts of coats and blankets. There now are more than 800,000 Afrikaner households living in these conditions says Helping Hand – and South Africa only has 3-million Afrikaners. And each month, more of even the most skilled Afrikaner artisans lose their homes, are denied jobs under the ANC-laws denying them all access to the labour market -- and have to join this army of destitute's.

The Kroningspark community ‘s cohesion also means that they can help protect each other against outside attacks by the many armed youth gangs which roam most of South Africa now, looting, raping and killing at such a rate that more than 1,2-million serious violent crimes were recorded in the latest SAPS statistics.

Many greater-Pretoria and Vaal-triangle smallholdings where such retired Afrikaner workers often live, earning extra income with produce-gardens, such as in Cullinan (protestor above) are under near-nightly attack from such armed gangs. Strangely, hardly anything of value is ever stolen during such organised attacks by these armed youth gangs except cellphones with which residents could have called the police. But usually the home-owners are murdered execution-style. Some Cullinan Afrikaners have even dared to take to the streets to courteously issue a hardly-heard protest against these attacks targetting their community (picture November 2008, Beeld) – but the killings just continue.

Many of these old-age Afrikaner artisan-pensioners in Kroningspark are frail: often ill with lung-diseases due to their long work in mines and industries. These have always been working-class artisans, never ‘rich’ but always self-reliant.

When this small Kroningspark community was faced with forced removal under the dictates of the ANC-town council, these frail old folk even joined forces with their youngsters who for the most part, have to survive on the parents’ old-age pensions – being denied all access to the labour market under the ANC’s ‘affirmative action’ laws.

And very unlike Afrikaners, who have very few displays of public-demonstrating as it’s not a historic part of their cultural expression, even the Kroningspark Afrikaners have held a public demonstration, protesting against these plans.

130,000 poor Afrikaner households denied public housing unless they move to black squatter camps:

The country’s 3-million Afrikaners’ unemployment rates have soared by 150% this year, says Solidarity trade union – and 131,000 Afrikaner households now have become ‘internal, desperately poor, famine-stricken refugees inside their own country’…

Afrikaner Poor Whites in Pretoria North Squatter Camp

September 30 2009 -- The premier of the Free State province Ace Magashule said during a visit to the Jagersfontein squatter camp – for poor-white Afrikaners – in August this year, that the ‘names of poor whites must also be entered onto the state-housing registers in the province’.

And, he also wanted to know why unemployed white people aren’t also used in the various development-projects to help build these state-houses. “The Province belongs to us all, black and white,’ he told the squatters.

Solidarity Trade Union spokesmen note that ‘Premier Magashule thus far is the only premier who acknowledges the dire housing needs of poor whites in the country.

“Since 1994, there has been a very strong pattern of discrimination against the 430,000 poor and homeless whites, overwhelmingly Afrikaners, who are trying to survive in squatter camps, caravans, Wendy houses in backyards and ‘informal sink structures’.

“President Zuma, visiting another Afrikaner squatter camp in Pretoria last year, also noticed that ‘the situation in white squatter camps are in no way different to the need and poverty seen in black squatter camps,’ Solidarity pointed out.

“This deliberate discrimination against poor white squatters is nevertheless still being fed by (former president Thabo Mbeki’s widespread but false perception) that ‘white people are rich, and black people are poor’.

“Helping Hand’s viewpoint is clear – namely that poverty knows no colour-barriers and that all of the country’s poor must have access to the same rights.

“It is inconceivable that only fifteen years later, there is little to nothing attention given to the housing needs of poor white Afrikaners – only the Free State premier has acknowledged the problem.

“ It is unclear whether the Free State government will provide state-housing for whites in already established HOP-housing communities, or whether poor whites will only be given HOP-housing if they are prepared to live in black informal squatter camps.

Forced removals of Afrikaner whites unacceptable: “Any such demands – which would of course mean that hundreds of thousands of poor Afrikaner whites would have to be forcibly removed before they will be helped – are unacceptable to Helping Hand.”

Reverse discrimination bars poor homeless whites from public housing:

“Helping Hand is lodging this petition to force the SA Government into acknowledging and paying attention to these facts: namely that poverty does not know any colour-barriers – and that the government now is engaged in the loathsome practice of reverse-discrimination, by barring poor, homeless whites from the government’s HOP-housing projects.

Scorched Earth Murder Campaign Against Farmers

Even many of the very low-income Afrikaner whites who still own small houses, such as the Van den Berg family in Cullinan, (above) often are attacked and their wage-earners murdered by large groups of black attackers. Piet van den Bergh, 64, was murdered on July 12 2009 and their small home was torched, with the attackers locking Mrs Van den Bergh in the bathroom, telling her: “What are your last words, because we are going to burn down your house.’ She escaped however and neighbours could rescue their meagre belongings before the house burned down. This family wásn’t rich and very little of real value was actually ‘robbed’ but the SAPS authorities claim these are just ‘ordinary crimes’.
