I have been attacked at my home where the 2 black male assailents were laying in waiting. They shoved a pistol into my mouth and pulled the trigger. Luckily I survived but then to my horror realised that the Police could not be bothered to investigate the attempted murder. They did noyt bother to take statements from me or collect the evidence - bullets, shelld, hammer, belaclava. I had to phone them. 2 years after the bullet have been removed from my head they still have not bothered to collect it for evidence. Complaints to the police and the Complaints directorate was not even responded to. If it was a black person that was attacked the media and ANC would have made a huge issue out of it. Just as ''Hilter'' carried out the final ''solution'' against the Jews during the Second World War, so too are the 'white' and Indian resident's of South Africa subjected to a similar plan by those in power and who are Racist and Xenophobic. The government legislation that sidelines ''whites'' in the form of AE/BEE/BBEE/EE and the hatred and violent crime that is meeted out to 'white's' and Indians is nothing more than a way to chase the ''settlers'' out of SA. Crime is simply a way for ''Xenophobic Africans'' to exact a cruel and often deadly form of ethnic cleanising. Our farmers, yes those who produce the ''lifeblood'' of the country in terms of food are being targeted , murdered,raped,tortured in the most inhumane way - What these ''hienous criminals'' do to women and children is beyond comprehension. Why were the Commandos disbanded? The farmers only form of security in often secluded areas. Yes we can all live in a little bubble and live in the hope that nothing will happen to us, I often pray that I will wake up to a new South Africa where we will not be targeted because of who we are. As a 42yo single white woman, recently graduated, I am too "old" for any jobs, and thus cannot support my two daughters, the youngest of which, aged 13yo, is denied an education based on my lack of income and beacause shes oriental.She suffered many years of abuse by educators. This past year shes in recovery, but lacks and misses learning, a basic requirement she and thousands of others are denied, as the schools are"too full" or one cant afford it. Ive tried immigrating to Canada on work visa, but my children were turned down...and options of going to UK (my ancestral country), are fruitless because home affairs wont grant my mother her birth certificate to apply for ancestral visa, over last 2 years!! Wiithout an income, I feel useless and full of dispair, but not desperate enough to rob and murder, a daily excuse many poverised non- whites use to gain an income. Crime does affect my family.. we are lost, desperate and live in fear!!! Noone asks to live like a caged animal... or to be attacked/ murdered. Please make the way to Canada easier for single moms like myself. We just want to live in peace, and see another day for our families.. My family emigrated to South Africa after WWII, I did not care for it or its policies, as soon as I turned 18 I left, ultra-liberal that I was at the time. Spent a dozen years in East Africa, built up a nice business only to lose everything, starting with my liberalism under Amin when I came to Canada. My sister thought me an idiot, she stayed, took out citizenship and invested her life there. Some five years ago she celebrated her 65th birthday, she was gang-raped and robbed of everything in her home. Since independence the currency has nose-dived, with it her savings and investments. She cannot leave, she has no place to go yet it is not safe for her to stay.

As a white south african i am shocked by the crime levels in this country. Every one of my friends has been a victim of crime by non whites. The crimes seem to be always violent and the police have a total lack of interest in solving the crimes. A friend of mine was raped in her house by one black man while another went through the house taking as much of her valuables as possible. Fortunately she convinced her rapist to use a condom. The following day we found the used condom in the garden, (after the police had been there - Obviously not really interested in gathering dna evidence).We contacted the investigating officer who refused to come collect the dna evidence. As a white african i am forced to live behind electric fences, burgular alarms and subscribe to armed response companies. To not do this makes you unable to have insurance. I do acknowledge that there is huge black on black crime issues, but as whites , the perception is that we are wealthy, and therefore we are targeted. Even in today's newspaper we are told that the average time for police to respond to a call for help is between thirty minutes and six hours. Where else do you have armed gangs of twenty plus people entering shopping malls armed with ak47's. Government response to white south africans has been if we do not like the crime we should leave, yet when someone manages to find a way out and the truth is exposed they put political pressure on the country that granted the asylum. I would welcome any member of the federal court to come spend some time here before they make any moves to review the decision.

Crime has effected my whole family. My Dad was robbed and shot 4 times. My brother and his wife was attacted on a game range, taking all the rifles and money after they've hurt my sister-in law who was at the time due with twins. My sister and her husband was robbed in side their house while sleeping. They were drugged and was left with almost nothing. This happend on Sundag morning. We are being punnished for not listening to our Father according to Deut 28. This is crazy and your black government thinks that we in South Africa don't have a problem with crime. Think again!!!! I used to live in Zimbabwe but were were forced to leave the country of our birth and our inheritance because of the politics of the Mugabe goverment. We moved to SA in 2006 because my ancestors came from SA but the signs were clear to us that SA was already well on its way to where Zimbabwe went and the level of violence was so much worse. It was after a Carte Blanche episone about another rape victims story that I decided it was time to find another place to live. I moved to Canada with my family in 2009. I am happy to be away from the crime and violence of SA but I still have family there. I will do my best to get them out too if I can, since it is clear to me that the SA Government has no real intention of correcting the problems there. Just like in Zimbabwe, their primary objective is to obtain power and then to hold on to that power no matter the consequences to the population - black, white or any other colour!

I currently live in Rustenburg, one of the cities who will host a number of soccer events during the world cup in 2010. Due to crime and the total disregard for human live in our country I would advise anyone to stay away from this country. Unless you want to be a statistic like so many of of this country's citizens. The police force is a joke and you are not even save when you at the police station as shown with a recent incident where a woman was raped by a policeman while 3 others heard her screams for help and did nothing. This is just one of millions of incidents that occur daily in our country. My kids have no future here due to affirmative action and BEE policy by our government. I think my country is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but due to crime, fearing for your live on a daily basis and a very very corrupt government I will leave this country in a second if I ever have an opportunity. It used to be that we would/could avoid areas known for violent crime. Nowdays, there is no avoiding it, and our country does not publish our crime stats or information. This leads to a false sense of security. With time, we are made aware by personal experience. My sister woke to house breakers standing next to her bed in an affluent residential area. The criminals tortured her for hours through the night. The only reason she never got raped was that she convinced them that she was seriously ill and they would contract her illness should they rape her and die soon. This was re-inforced by her medication next to her bed for epilepsy... Thank goodness for epilepsy, or she would have been gang raped. This did not stop the criminals from taunting and hitting her. She eventually escaped from a window on the second story by hanging from the roof beam overhang and screaming until a gardener heard her and called the security company. In my town, house breaking is out of control. Even this is not an issue, as almost everyone is now insured. We accaept the loss of material things as a daily occurence. What we cannot accept is that there is a trend to burgle the house when the women and children are home. Most are raped and killed. We are so occupied with preventative measures that we have forgotten how to live. In my family alone, 1 of every 2 members have been a victim of violent crime (I am also including children in this count). At the moment, my only hope is to get my children out of South Africa as soon as possible. Until then, we continue to lock ourselves up. Of all the crimes committed against our family, not one Criminal has ever been caught or arrested. And if caught, there is a strong possibility the criminals will be out of prison within the year. Our country is all about corruption and violence, NOTHING more!!!

Please uphold Mr Huntley's right to claim refugee status. The persecution of whites in South Africa is real and persistent. My sister-in-law was gang-raped, beaten and slashed with a knife in South Africa, while the black perpetrators made racist comments. They did attempt to murder her, but thankfully their firearm failed. My friend was stabbed in the chest and threatened with rape by black burglars who claimed to be HIV-positive, with the words "we're going to rape you and give you AIDs you white bitch" - she managed to wrestle free and lock herself in a room. A dear family friend, whom I called 'uncle' and knew for 30 years was brutally murdered on his farm, in an apparent racist attack, in September 2008. By God's grace my grandparents managed to stave off two attempted attacks on their farm. Sadly the last attack caused my grandfather to suffer a heart attack, which ultimately killed him. My husband was the victim of an armed robbery at his business, in broad daylight. My home has been robbed three times. Apart from violence, affirmative action and BEE, whites are discriminated against in many other ways designed to offend and break us down. For example, last year (2008) I stood in three different lines at a McDonalds fast food restaurant in Johannesburg and every time it came to my turn, the black staff closed the line and opened another. I was the only white customer at the time. When I confronted the cashiers and asked why they wouldn't serve me, my question was met by the kind of hostile glare that every white South African knows is an expression of racism. At that point I asked if I was being denied service because I was white, and none of the staff bothered to respond, not even to pretend to deny it. The list goes on and on and on. My point is this. Every white South African, whether or not they have personally suffered at the hands of violent, racist crime or other forms of racist behaviour, knows somebody and usually several people who have. Neither the government, the media nor the international community speak out for white South Africans because a) they will be labeled racist; b) some consider it our just punishment for apartheid; and c) nobody wants to admit the failure of the 'rainbow nation'. Somebody needs the courage to stand up, speak up for us and either put a stop to this genocide or to provide a safe haven where we can escape this persecution. I believe Canada has the courage to be the defender of our human rights and I pray that you will stand up to the South African government, not be swayed by their bullying, and open this Pandora's Box for all the world to see the ugly truth about the so-called 'rainbow nation'. In 2008, my husband and I bought a business in the USA and fled South Africa, to ensure the safety and future of our young daughter and ourselves. We gave up our heritage, our culture and left behind our beloved families, a thriving business, beautiful home and everything that we know and hold dear. We did this because we know beyond any shadow of doubt that it is only a matter of time before every white South African becomes a victim of this relentless, racist persecution via rape, (more) armed robbery, torture and violence, and ultimately being killed for the sin of being white. We may be financially secure, but we have lost everything that we hold dear, with the exception of our safety, security and the promise of a future where we can succeed or fail on our own merit alone and not based on our skin colour. We were able to get away and that means we are the lucky ones.

I am 22 years old. Because of legislated discrimination in terms of the Employment Equity Act, 1998 (Act 55 of 1998) I am leaving my country of birth next month to take up employment in Europe. Does the world know about this 'apartheid in reverse' legislation? What other young people are going to do about getting a job in South Africa is frightening. When the colour of your skin still determines whether you can even apply for a job makes our country a real laugh! This discriminatory legislation is here to stay say the Government...so if you are black...it's OK - but tough luck to the coloured, indian and white people...you will have to find a job somewhere else! Like it or lump it - a perfect way to describe the 'new' South Africa. I'm glad to have found work overseas where I will at least have a chance of a reasonable life in the future!
