As I have previously stated, from my personal experience in dealing with the TRC, TRC officials, and the TRC-RSA Goverment; I have come to the extremely unpleasant conclusion, that the Truth and Reconciliation was not sincere, by the individuals who set it up, or who profess to be “TRC/Proudly South African.”

When circumstances and experiences began to force me to confront this as a working hypothesis to understand the motivations of individuals within the TRC South African Goverment actions, which totally contradicted thier “Truth and Reconciliation” verbal diarhea rhetoric; I resisted.

I found excuses, I thought 'Give them Another Chance'. Again, and again, and again. Finally, I thought I would let them know: to thier Face: In Black and White, how their actions were being interpreted, and give them an opportunity to provide a response to provide some alternative perspective insight into their behaviour.

What drew me to conservatism years ago was the fact that it gave discipline a slightly higher status than virtue. This meant it could not be subverted by passing notions of the good. It could be above moral vanity. And so it made no special promises to me as a minority. It neglected me in every way except as a human being who wanted freedom. Until my encounter with conservatism I had only known the racial determinism of segregation on the one hand and of white liberalism on the other -- two varieties of white supremacy in which I could only be dependent and inferior.

The appeal of conservatism is the mutuality it asserts between individual and political freedom, its beautiful idea of a free man in a free society. And it offers minorities the one thing they can never get from liberalism: human rather than racial dignity. I always secretly loved Malcolm X more than Martin Luther King Jr. because Malcolm wanted a fuller human dignity for blacks -- one independent of white moral wrestling. In a liberalism that wants to redeem the nation of its past, minorities can only be ciphers in white struggles of conscience.

Why We Are White Refugees

Simplistically, I'd say that when it comes to 'Proudly South Africa' there are three groups of South Africans.

There are at least two groups who do not share the 'Proudly South African' sentiments, with the centrist 'Proudly South Africans'.

If I would classify the two extremes, I'd put them into 'black' and 'white' rather than 'left' or 'right'. Because there are blacks and whites, from both 'left' and 'right', who do not inhabit the 'Proudly South African' Hypocrisy on Steroids universe.

Predominantly, I'd say those who clearly and publicly do not classify themselves as 'Proudly South African', are those who value truth and values of honesty and integrity, above fake illusions of two faced hypocrisy unity, and patriotism founded upon lies and deception.

Many of them may have been sincerely willing to commit to the principles of Truth and Reconciliation, and a truly non-racial South Africa; only to find out that they had been betrayed, and deceived by the 'Truth and Reconciliation' Dog and Pony Show, and repeatedly subsequent thereto.

They found out that the ANC and Tutu's Truth and Reconciliation Illusion show, had no serious interest in exposing the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about Apartheid: good and bad.
