Radical Honesty SA Open Letter to Dewani and Hindocha families: Shrien Dewani has zero% chance of fair trial in South Africa.

Radical Honesty SA Open Letter to Shrien Dewani and Anni Hindocha’s friends and family: Shrien Dewani has zero% chance of fair trial in South Africa.

Response to Open Letter to Shrien Dewani, from anonymous friends of Annie Dewani / Hindocha, published on 31/12/2010 in The Sun: Anni’s Pals: We want some answers, Shrien.

31 December 2010

Dear Anni’s Anonymous Friends,

My response to you addresses the following statements in your letter to Mr. Dewani. I would suggest that if you follow my recommendations, you are far more likely to provide Mr. Dewani with a free and fair trial, where you can find the honest answers to your questions:
We would ask you and your family to leave this case to the police and courts, rather than joining a media battle with your PR agents.

You state you're innocent of these allegations so please go back to Cape Town to prove to the South African police why they've got it wrong.

We have heard South African police give Tongo's version of events but we have yet to hear you publicly make clear your full explanation as to why he's lying.

We would like you to volunteer to go before a South African court and show how Tongo is lying. We believe that this would help the public understand the following questions:

* Why don't you voluntarily go to court and show South African police suspicions are wrong?

What we want is the truth to come out and justice to be served, which is possible only if you answer in front of South African Court of Justice.

If Anni had been murdered in any other country in the world, I might indeed agree with you that Mr. Dewani should return to South Africa to stand trial, where you would hear the truth. But Anni was murdered in South Africa, where our police and courts are that only in name, and where our government has been bullshitting the South African public and world with the most spectacular public relations TRC FRAUD publicity stunt.

The truth is that Shrien Dewani -- just like any and every other South African citizen -- stands 0% chance of a free and fair trial in South Africa. Unfortunately citizens voting for the ANC don’t seem to be bothered with free and fair trials, perhaps because they benefit from a corrupt police and courts justice system.

Similarly Anni’s friends and family stand 0% chance of ever hearing the truth about what happened to Anni, from any trial occurring in South Africa.

Did Murdered Brit/Swede/Indian Tourist go to Khayalitsha to see “real Africa”, not safe European Africa; or in search of a drug-dealer?

Murdered tourist looking for 'real Africa'

News24

Cape Town - The husband of murdered tourist Anni Dewani says she made the fatal decision to go into Gugulethu last Saturday night because she wanted to see the “real Africa”.

Speaking to UK tabloid The Sun, Briton Shrien Dewani, 31, revealed on Monday that his Swedish wife said she wanted a change from the “safe” region around their hotel, Cape Town’s luxury Cape Grace, where they were staying for their honeymoon.

“She had never been to Africa before, so she suggested that we should have a look at the ‘real Africa’,” Dewani told the newspaper.

"Anni grew up in Sweden, and she felt as if the area around the hotel was like at home, so clean and safe, and maybe a bit sterile.

According to The Sun, Anni was killed by a bullet which had severed an artery. She is also believed to have been sexually assaulted.

South Africa murder: husband pleaded with carjackers

The husband of a newlywed murdered on her honeymoon in South Africa has described how he pleaded with armed carjackers not to separate him from his wife.

Shrien Dewani and his wife Anni had been married for just two weeks when their taxi was targeted in a township on the outskirts of Cape Town late on Saturday night.

The gunmen drove off with the couple inside the people carrier and forced Mr Dewani, 31, out of the window of the vehicle after driving around dark streets for 20 minutes.

With a gun held to his head, he was told that his partner would not be harmed.

The body of his 28-year-old Swedish wife was found the next morning.

"The first we knew that the cab was being attacked was when we heard the banging," Mr Dewani told the Daily Mail.

"I don't want to go into detail about what happened during the attack, because I will probably start crying. But they were so cold. They put a gun in my ear and pulled back the trigger - it really was the stuff of movies.

Capetown Murder of British Honeymoon Tourist Makes World News; while Police Launch Manhunt..

Honeymoon horror: Newlywed Briton's wife is killed after armed robbers hijack them in taxi

By Ian Evans, DailyMail.UK
Last updated at 10:04 AM on 15th November 2010

The wife of a British tourist has been murdered on honeymoon in South Africa by armed robbers who hijacked the taxi she and her husband were travelling in.

Anni Dewani, 28, was two nights into the holiday with millionaire businessman Shrien Dewani, 30.

The newlyweds were driving to their hotel at 11pm on Saturday when their taxi was stopped by two men in one of Cape Town’s impoverished townships.

After forcing the driver out, the robbers sped off with the terrified couple, who were married only two weeks ago.

An hour later, they released Mr Dewani unharmed about five miles from the hijack scene after robbing him.

His wife’s body was later found in another of Cape Town’s slums, slumped on the back seat of the abandoned minibus. Unconfirmed reports suggested she had been shot.

UK couple hijacked in Cape Town, woman killed

Nov 14, 2010 1:56 PM
Sapa / TimesLive

A woman from the UK on holiday in Cape Town was killed after she and her partner were hijacked in the city, Western Cape police said.

Two armed men approached the shuttle service bus the couple was in at the intersection of NY108 and NY112 in Guguletu around 11pm on Saturday, forced the driver out and drove off with them, Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said in a statement.

Around midnight they dropped the 31-year-old man off in the Harare area of the Khayelitsha informal settlement.

"After seeking the assistance of a passing motorist, he was taken to Harare police station unharmed."

Following a search the hijacked car, a Volkswagen Sharan, was found in Lingelethu West. The body of the 28-year-old woman was on the back seat.

Traut would not comment on how she was killed, saying an autopsy would first be conducted. He would also not disclose their names or where in they UK they were from. They arrived in Cape Town last Thursday.

The two men were still at large. Anyone who could help police catch them was asked to contact the investigating officer, Colonel Riaan Theron on 082-463-8706, or Crime Stop on 08600-10111.

World Cup 2010: England players have items stolen by hotel staff

• About £500 stolen, along with shirts, underwear and a medal
• Five hotel workers sentenced to three-years in prison

Associated Press
guardian.co.uk, Monday 28 June 2010 15.49 BST

Cleaning staff at the luxury hotel where England stayed during the World Cup stole football shirts, a medal and even underwear from players.

Police spokeswoman Junior Metsi said cash was taken – about £500 – but the thieves seemed most interested in souvenirs, such as a United States shirt an England player received in the customary post-match trade. A medal awarded by Fifa and underwear also disappeared during a spree which police say began on 21 June.

The thefts were not reported to police until Saturday. Metsi said police solved the case within a day, searching the homes of staff at the hotel near Rustenburg, northwest of Johannesburg.

"Everything that was stolen was recovered and they [the thieves] are now behind bars," she said.

On Sunday, a special World Cup court convicted five hotel workers of the thefts. They were sentenced to three years in prison and fined 6,000 rand (£524). Metsi would not name the players from whom items were stolen.

Crime against World Cup visitors increases

10/06/2010
The Citizen

Between 30 and 40 newspaper clippings were presented as evidence of life in South Africa. “One article exhibited was published in [the Daily Sun in 2004] by Africa Ka Mahamba. [It was] entitled ‘Taking from whites is not a crime’,” Kaplan said. The article quotes the leader of the “Uhuru cultural club” as telling youngsters who attended a Human Rights Day celebration to steal from whites because “it is the right thing to do”.
[IRB Ruling: MA8-04910: Brandon Huntley]

A spate of armed attacks and robberies against foreign World Cup visitors have been reported and the numbers are increasing exponentially.

The Greek national soccer squad and a group of Chinese World Cup visitors have fallen victim to crime ahead of the opening of the tournament, police said yesterday.

Armed men held up a bus-load of Chinese tourists when they stopped in an informal settlement in Germiston and made off with the digital camera and cellphone of a Chinese man with SA citizenship. The gunman and three accomplices sped away from the scene.

This followed reports a Chinese camera crew were robbed of cash and camera equipment at gunpoint outside Soccer City stadium in Soweto after the attackers smashed their car window.

[Dutch] Tourist tells of rape ordeal

Dutch woman on antiretrovirals after horrifying ordeal in four-star hotel

Apr 25, 2010 12:00 AM
By Buyekezwa Makwabe

A Dutch tourist has vowed never to set foot in South Africa again - unless it is to give evidence against the man who gagged, robbed and raped her twice in the Cape Winelands.

The hotel said she was negligent with her own safety by not properly locking her room door Yvonne Petronella Den Hollander, 62, is suing the four-star Lord Charles Hotel for failing to keep her safe and is claiming R1.7-million in damages for the terrifying ordeal she endured.

Den Hollander, a divorced mother of two, was brutalised within hours of checking into the luxury hotel. She was put on antiretrovirals after the attack, and underwent psychological counselling for trauma.

Two years after she was raped and robbed of R3600 at the hotel on March 9 2008:
  • Police have yet to arrest a suspect in the case;

  • The hotel says it is not liable to pay damages because guests signed a disclaimer protecting it against claims for loss, damage or injury; and

  • Den Hollander is being asked to put up R200000 as security for court costs before her lawsuit can proceed against the hotel, because she is a foreigner.

The high cost could derail her case.

In court papers, she accused the hotel of negligence and failure to put in place measures that could have prevented her ordeal.

Speaking to the Sunday Times this week through her lawyer, Luuk Rijnen, she said she would never again set foot in Africa, except to face her attacker in court.

Canadian Tortured & Murdered on Farm in Limpopo, 3rd Farmmurder in Limpopo in 4 days...

[The Secret Race War you won't read about in any World Cup brochure]

A Canadian living in South Africa has been murdered in his home. But homicide is so common there, says his son, that he holds out no hope the crime will ever be solved.

Ron Smith, 70, who grew up in Ottawa, was found tied to a chair at his house near Bela Bela, 170 kilometres north of Johannesburg, on Monday. He’d been shot in the leg and was left to bleed to death, said his son, Jonathan Smith.

“Your life is not worth more than a cellphone,” he said. “And that’s exactly what they took from my father. They took a cellphone and a laptop.”

South Africa has one of the world’s highest homicide rates, with 37 murders per 100,000 people each year — nearly 20 times the rate in Canada. More than 18,000 people are murdered there every year.

Black African Criminals document Racially Motivated Death Threats to 'Colonialists (White)' World Cup Fans; televised on ETV News..

Reuters and Eurosport report that:
Police are hunting two men whose threats on a television programme to kill and rob fans at June's World Cup have alarmed authorities worried South Africa's reputation for violence will deter foreign visitors.

The men, whose faces were concealed, said in a weekend programme that they would commit armed robberies and murder during the month-long soccer spectacular which is expected to attract 450,000 foreign fans. They said this was justified as revenge for colonial wrongs.
Meanwhile IOL report that:
Two e.News journalists have been served with subpoenas in terms of Section 205 of the Criminal Procedure Act after a story which featured interviews with two self-confessed criminals.

One of the criminals stated in the story by Mpho Lakaje - which aired on Friday - that he would rob tourists during the World Cup.
And allegedly -- according to IOL reporting on a Radio 702 News report -- the person who put ETV journalist Mpho Lakaje, into contact with the two 'World Cup Thugs', has been found murdered, after allegedly being forced to drink poision, and leaving what is alleged to be a fake suicide note:
According to Nomsa Maseko's live report from Jabulani police station in Soweto, the family of the man do not believe he killed himself and suspect he was "forced to take the poison". Traces of rat poison were apparently found in his room.

More Journalists Wondering: “Is the 2010 World Cup a Disaster in the Making?”

Danny Jordaan, Chairman of the 2010 Local Organizing Committee appears to think that purely because he has given his Teflon Safety and Security Guarantee, that all Security and Safety shall be fine at the 2010 World Cup; everyone should simply take his word as gospel, from Mt. Sinai.

But it appears that the Huffington Post forgot the ANC rule, that all liberals are to blindly and obediently accord any individual from the ANC's pronouncements as, well, gospel from Mt. Sinai.

As you probably know, the World Cup is scheduled for South Africa in June of this year. Many present and former residents see this as a potential recipe for disaster, and for good reason. Most would agree that three of the major venues, Johannesburg, Durban, and Capetown are cities where lawless mobs run rampant and threaten both classes on a regular daily basis.......

If this anecdote is hard to stomach, imagine the number of potentially explosive situations just waiting to materialize when money-spending foreigners from all corners of the earth convene in South Africa this summer. While this is but one isolated incident, the probability that naive foreigners will put themselves in harm's way is fairly high.

Clearly, soccer...or football (as it is known outside of the U.S.) fans worldwide need to know the risks that they run in trying to have a safe trip to the Cup matches. Does this really sound like a place to stage the most watched sporting event in the world? It wasn't even a safe place for Sheldie Cohen to watch his son's soccer practice.

The French and Belgian governments are incensed at how the South African Police Services botched investigations into the gang rape of a French tourist and an attack on her Belgian boyfriend, the Belgian Swimming Coach, on the Durban beachfront, during the International Paralympic Committee Swimming World Championships, in December 2006.
[Pro-SA Boycott 2010 World Cup Campaign on Facebook]

Meanwhile ETV decided to contact two criminals known to them, who informed the SAPS on live television, of their intentions to rob and murder naive and gullible tourists visiting for the 2010 World Cup.

The interviewed criminals have also learned the New South Africa PC lingo. They justified their robbing and murdering intentions, as repayment to colonialists (read: Europeans). Considering that 142 Academics, and the ANC elite deny that black criminals have any 'racial motivations' in regards to their criminal acts against whites, it should be interesting to hear how the ANC and liberals respond. I am unaware of any black colonialists who brought loin cloth Africans yet to invent the wheel or the written word, the colonialist gifts of the written word, medicine, literature, legal systems, etc. Clearly few Africans appear happy or thankful for these European colonialist gifts of civilization.

While the South African media may be pummelled into fear and obedience by Danny Jordaan, Martin Samuel of the Daily Mail is not similarly intimidated:

If Jordaan is wrong, however, there will be some who will make a literally fatal mistake by coming here in the summer. And Jordaan was mistaken - fatally so - about safety issues in Angola at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The chief executive officer of the 2010 World Cup was among those who assessed Angola on behalf of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in 2006 and pronounced it safe.

Following the attempted assassination of the national team of Togo in disputed Cabinda province last week, this gives him a credibility problem when he makes similar pronouncements about security in his own country. Jordaan is between a rock and a hard place.
[Note Added: 22/01/2010: It appears that the 2010 Local Organizing Committee, BrandSouth Africa & SA Marketing Council, et al, did not appreciate the sentiments in Pro-SA Boycott 2010 World Cup Campaign on Facebook. On 21/01/2010: Facebook Deleted “Boycott 2010 World Cup” & “Population Policy Common Sense”.]

British Film Star: 'It was kill a tourist day in South Africa - and we were in the way'

I was shot at on New Years Eve. In Cape Town, South Africa. In a taxicab.

Not just me. My family were there too.

Victoria's Smurfit's taxi was shot at in Strand Street, Cape Town, by a gang. Police say the shooting was likely to have been part of an initiation ceremony.

Writing in today’s Irish Mail on Sunday, the 35-year-old actress says she was told by South African police the attack was likely to have been a gang initiation ceremony dubbed ‘Kill a Tourist Day’.

Victoria, who plays icy Roisin Connor in the ITV show, said memories of the attack have often left her tearful since returning home. Her mother, who was also in the taxi, had to be hospitalised for minor heart problems.

The shooting happened in Strand Street, one of Cape Town’s main roads, which will be thick with football fans when the World Cup begins in June.

Was the Togo terrorist attack a threat to SA's 2010 World Cup?

The UK Daily Mail thinks that the Togo Terrorist Attack was Footballs worst nightmare:
The four weeks in January which were meant to herald an African football carnival have turned instead to carnage.

Security was already a major issue for those travelling to the World Cup, and not only for the players and coaches. Even journalists and TV men heading to cover the competition have been told they will have armed guards and 24-hour security.
Everybody was hoping for an African Festival:
Instead they have an Africa driven by a fear that could even affect the World Cup in South Africa.
Hull Premier League Manager Phill Brown says:
I am appalled, this throws a question mark against next summer's World Cup. You simply cannot put the safety of players, officials and fans at the slightest risk. That is totally unacceptable.
Meanwhile Chief World Cup Organizer Danny Jordaan says that the gun attack will have no impact on the World Cup:
"The world understands that sovereign countries are responsible for their own safety and security and to say what happened in Angola impacts on the World Cup in South Africa is the same as suggesting that when a bomb goes off in Spain, it threatens London's ability to host the next Olympics.

"It is nonsensical for South Africa to be tainted with what happens in Angola, which is not even one of our neighbouring countries."

For every 1 000 crimes reported in South Africa, only 430 criminals are arrested. Of these, only 77 are convicted and barely 8 of these are sentenced to two or more years of imprisonment.
[Boycott 2010 World Cup]

So, while South Africa holds the prestigious record of the Gold Medal for Murders, and the Silver Medals for Rapes, at the Crime Olympics; with Angola not even worth a mention; and South Africa's Ministers of Safety and Security either deliberately indifferent to these Crime Olympic realities; or totally and utterly useless and incompetent to provide safety and security for South Africa's own citizens; the very same taxpaying citizens who pay the ANC and Mr. Jordaan salaries; Mr. Jordaan wants the world to believe that these same deliberately indifferent or utterly incompetent Safety and Security personnel, are capable of protecting the Worlds Soccer Stars, from Al Qaeda terrorist acts and gangland crime warriors.

ZA Top 20 Dangerous Travel Destinations # 2: Beware: SA is Violent: UK, US, AU et al warn citizens: “Exercise Highest Degree of Caution”

“In the last 15 years, over 45 000 Afrikaners have been murdered and over 90 000 Afrikaner women have been raped. How can you have a World Cup Soccer event in a country where one of its minority groups are being exterminated?” asks Bittereinder Boer, at his Boycott 2010 World Cup South Africa Facebook Cause
At the Boycott 2010 World Cup Page (www.boycott-2010-world-cup.co.nr/), you can find, among others the following statements:
“Backed by travel advice issued by the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), London's The Telegraph newspaper has placed South Africa alongside Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Colombia, Haiti, Eritrea, Pakistan, Burundi, Nigeria and the DRC in terms of danger to travellers.

According to the FCO, SA has “an underlying threat from terrorism”.

‘Avoid townships, practice safe sex and “exercise the highest degree of caution”, are some of the travel tips given to tourists visiting South Africa. Godless Black S.African Violence Strikes Canadians Twice in December, Trail Leading Straight to White Refugee Huntley...

When a white South African, Brandon Huntley, was granted asylum in Canada after claims of being the victim of racist violence, many of us - Richmark Sentinel included - went pear-shaped and labeled the board who had approved it, a bunch of morons who never took the time or trouble to investigate the reality of the situation.

Martin [& Janet Stern, robbed and stabbed by two black men in Hermanus] told a reporter from the Cape Times newspaper that it was their faith that got them through the ordeal. “Janet said to me in Hebrew: `We're going to pray to God,' and then they left us,” the newspaper quoted him as saying.

Insp. David Payne with the Hermanus Police Service said he visited the couple, who are recovering in hospital in the coastal vacation town popular with tourists. Payne said the couple were hiking along a trail deep in the Kleinrivier Mountains when they were attacked by two black men.

The attack, two weeks after an armed assault on a 70-year-old Canadian priest that left a [French] priest dead, is provoking another round of soul searching over South Africa's high rate of violent crime, along with fears that the country's tourism business could be damaged as the soccer tournament approaches.

Erasmus police station Commissioner Superintendent Sam Mogonyana said: “I am confident that we will catch the bastards who did this in the house of God. It is very sad, I have no words to describe this. It is barbaric.”

Fr Blondel is the fourth Catholic priest to be killed in South Africa in 2009. The three other priests are: Fr Daniel Matsela Mahula, in the Diocese of Klerksdorp, killed on 27 February while driving his car, by four highwaymen near Bloemhof; Fr Lionel Sham, parish priest of Mohlakeng (Archdiocese of Johannesburg), killed on 7 March, and Fr Ernst Plöchl, a 78 year old Austrian missionary of the Congregation of the Missionaries of Mariannhill, killed on 31 May in the Cape Province of South Africa.

South Africans need to think long and hard about this culture of violence and intolerance so that some day they can laugh off the claims of the Brandon Huntley's of this world. That day is unfortunately still some way off.

SA's Robbers with Blue Lights & Badges: ‘Why going to 2010 World Cup terrifies Guardian.UK's Louise Taylor..’

LAST month, three robbers who pretended to be police officers robbed four Spanish tourists.

The tourists had changed money at the airport and were on their way to the Hilton Hotel in Sandton when three men in a blue Ford Fairmont used a blue light to pull the driver over after the Marlboro turn-off on the N3. They stole about R28400.

In September, US Agency for International Development employee Thobekile Finger and an airport shuttle service driver were attacked as they returned from the airport. The men demanded their valuable items.

In May, four men were arrested for allegedly posing as police officers and robbing people. The men flashed a fake police badge at their victims, and then asked them to pull over. They told their victims they were from the “tourism and drug control unit”, and needed to search their bags.

In May 2008, Freedom Mukwevho and Bongani Thabethe were arrested on four counts of armed robbery linked to attacks carried out on people who had just entered the country from the airport. The two were linked to the hold up of Oluremi Obasanjo, wife of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.

In October 2007, a group of traditional Greek singers were robbed by three bogus policemen just after they left the airport. » » » » [Sowetan (PDF)]

Peter Burgstaller (13 February 1964 – 23 November 2007) was an Austrian football goalkeeper.

He played for Favoritner AC (until 1984), Wacker Innsbruck (1984-1986), Grazer AK (1986-1987), VfB Mödling (1987-1988), Austria Salzburg (1988-1991), SV Ried (1991-1992) and finally a second spell at Austria Salzburg before retiring from the game in 1993.

Peter Burgstaller

After retiring from the game, Burgstaller coached lower division side FC Puch during the 1995-96 season, and later founded an event agency in Salzburg.

Murder Charges laid against Accused of Burgstaller Murder

Burgstaller was shot and killed in on a golf course in Durban, South Africa on 23 November 2007.[1] Police suspect the murder was the result of a robbery, as Burgstaller's mobile phone and golfing equipment were missing at the scene of the crime. At the time of his murder, delegates were attending the World Cup qualifying draw in nearby Durban, South Africa.

Three men were arrested after the murder.[2] On 30 October 2009 two of the arrested men were convicted of murder and of robbery with aggravating circumstances. They received lengthy prison sentences. [3]
